Prerelease are run using a special variant of the Sealed format, where players are each provided a Prerelease Pack they use to participate. Prerelease Packs typically come with 6 Draft Boosters, a special promo from the new set, and a spindown life tracker die. Players open their packs to build a 40-card deck and play casual matches with other participants. They can even use their promo in their deck!
