Duplicating events in Wizards EventLink is a fast way to schedule recurring events like Friday Night Magic, Commander Night, or Draft League. This feature copies all event settings so you don’t have to re-enter details each time.
How to Duplicate an Event
- Log into EventLink at eventlink.wizards.com.
- Create your base event (or use an official template).
- Fill in key details:
- Event title (e.g., "Friday Night Magic – Standard")
- Format (Standard, Commander, Sealed, etc.)
- Pairing method (Swiss or Player List Only)
- Date/time, venue, entry fee, and description
- Click "Duplicate Event" to copy the base setup.
- Repeat to make as many copies as needed
- Update each duplicate:
- Set new date/time
- Adjust title/format if needed
- Click "Create Event" for each to finalize.
What Gets Copied
- Title, format, venue
- Pairing method, rules level
- Entry fee, event description
- Publication status (public/private)
Date and time must be set for each duplicate.
Best Practices
- Batch schedule weekly events: Create one, duplicate for each week.
- Use templates: Combine with duplication for speed and accuracy.
- Promote early: The more advance notice on Store & Event Locator, the better.
- Track casual play: Use Player List Only events and duplicate for ongoing play.
